|The term "finish" explains the step of processing which completes the processing of the rolls and thus determines the outward appearance of the roll's surface.
We have 9 turning machines which have been modified especially for our purpose. A part of these machines is computer controlled. Some time soon all further machines will have the same equipment. Therefore the best possible reproducibility of all types of surfaces is guaranteed.
Finish is divided in two main sectors: Polishing and Matting.
By polishing of the roll's surface the roughness will be reduced to the requested value.
|This might be simple polishing or the best possible superfinish polishing.
By matting of the roll's surface the roughness will be raised to the requested value. The kind of blasting material determines the shape of roughness. The achieved values are recorded by modern measuring devices.
Both ways of processing are independent of the roll's material. All common types of steel and cast iron will be polished or matted. The same goes for rolls which have been chrome-plated or nickel-plated at our company. The combination of both types of processing is also possible.
